The rig needs a stable, level area to set up on, usually a driveway, road frontage, or compacted pad, with no soft or freshly filled ground under the outriggers. We also need clear overhead access: no low power lines, low tree branches, or narrow gateways in the path the boom will swing through.

For multi-storey pours we work with your builder to confirm the reach and angle needed to place concrete on upper floors or over structures already on site. On tighter blocks around Newcastle and Maitland, we’ll often walk the site or review photos beforehand so the operator arrives set up for the actual conditions, not a guess.

A boom pump uses a hydraulic arm to place concrete from above. It can reach over fences, across excavations, and above multi-storey buildings. The reach depends on the boom size, typically 20 to 50+ metres.

A boom pump can place significantly more concrete per hour than a line pump, typically 50 to 100+ cubic metres depending on the setup and mix. This makes it essential for time-critical commercial and civil pours.

The truck needs a stable, flat area to set up, typically about the size of two car spaces. The boom arm does the rest. Even on sites with limited ground access, the boom can reach over obstacles to place concrete where it needs to go.
